About KYPPA
KYPPA is a non-profit organization, created in 2001 to give a voice to paddlers in the state of Kentucky. In it’s 2001 By-Laws, KYPPA identified 4 objectives:
- To promote tourism and participation in the activity of paddlesports;
- To educate the public on safety issues regarding paddlesports participation;
- To guard the rights of the private and commercial paddlers to enjoy and safely use the waterways of Kentucky;
- To protect the water and adjoining lands and collectively speak out to support these interests.
Since it’s inception, it has been active in promoting all paddlesports. A number of promotional pieces (this web-site being one of them :-) ) have been created and distributed by KYPPA members and other related organizations. The benefits to a professional paddlesport organization joining KYPPA are:
- Networking
- Idea Generation
- Group Marketing
- Legislative Lobbying
- and of course - camaraderie
While the primary efforts of the organization are focused on professionals in paddlesports, there are provisions for individuals and other related for-profit and non-profit organizations to become members of the organization.
